Mervin Royce Jackson Mervin Royce Jackson, 71, of Shenandoah Junction, WV passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025 at his residence.
Born October 25, 1953 in Ranson, West Virginia he was the son of the late Thomas Franklin Jackson and Margurite Rodgers Jackson.
Mervin enjoyed working with Southland concrete for 35 years before retiring. After working long days his favorite thing to do was turn on the news and check the weather. He was a man of simple joys. He had a lifelong love for Dodge trucks and cars, and enjoyed playing softball in his younger years. He was a loyal fan of the Minnesota Vikings—cheering them on through every season, win or lose. Sundays in the fall were sacred, shared with family, snacks, and the purple and gold.
But above all, Mervin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He provided not just a home, but a life full of love, support, and laughter. His legacy lives on in the values he passed down, the memories he made with those he loved, and the strength he carried through every chapter of life.
He is survived by his wife, Paula, at home, daughters, Amy Carroll and husband, Travis, Dana Jackson and Dessie Glascock, step-daughters, Amber Hodge and Angela Hodge, six grandchildren, Hailey, Dante and wife, Bethany, Mikayla and husband, Donivan, Breanna, Shayla and Aiden, four great grandchildren, Aubree, Kylani, Treyson and Taevin, sister, Retha Cogle and brother, Willard Jackson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death
by his first wife, Brenda, grandson, Tyrone and eight siblings.
Services will be held at 5:00 pm on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV with Rev. Bucky Chapman officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm prior to the service.
