Jefferson High School played host to the Jim Taylor Invitational on Saturday morning where athletes competed in chilly and wet conditions. According to coach Craig Hunter, several teams opted to not participate which led to the elimination of trials. Athletes headed straight into competition in several categories including the long jump, pole vault, shot put and several running events. Full ranking details were not yet available.
Jefferson track meet goes on despite some dropouts
Jefferson's CJ Curtin participated in the long jump at Saturday's Jim Taylor Invitational meet held at Jefferson High School.
Isaiah Griffin, a student at Springs Mills, took an early lead in the 3200 meter for the boys, while Hannah Phillips maintained her lead throughout to win for the girls. Griffin's time was 10:28.99 while Phillips' was 11:32.82.
